New charity single by UK Eurovision legend Scott Fitzgerald

Scott Fitzgerald, who represented the UK in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin is back with a brand new single in support of cancer charity Cancer is a Drag.

“Your World Is Now Waiting” is written by Tony Power, who has composed songs for a number of Eurovision artists including Sonia, Linda Martin, Niamh Kavanagh and Anne-Marie David.

Cancer is a Drag provides financial support for people living with cancer and was founded in 2010 by Alan Bugg, following his own cancer diagnosis.

The charity aims to help others overcome the financial difficulties they face on a day-to-day basis by providing financial support where it is most needed, freeing up their beneficiaries to deal with the disease and its treatments. Over the years it has put on a number of drag and cabaret events to raise funds.

Scott, who says he is “delighted” to support Cancer is a Drag was pipped to the post in the 1988 contest by Celine Dion by just one single point, with his power ballad “Go” getting the silver medal. “Go”, written by Julie Forsyth is in fact the second track on his latest single, Scott’s first release since 1988.

The song will be available to download from March 27th – CDs can be pre-ordered by emailing info@cancerisadrag.org.
