Wales to make Junior Eurovision debut

The EBU has today announced the 19 nations that will participate in the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Minsk, Belarus, on Sunday 25 November.

Among the line-up is a debut appearance by Wales!  The principality will be taking part as Welsh-language broadcaster S4C is a member of the European Broadcasting Union.

We now know that S4C will be holding a “Search for a Star” contest to find the representative – and, of great delight to linguists, will be the fact that the Welsh entry will be sung in the Welsh language.

Wales will join 18 other countries, including fellow debutante Kazakhstan, for the largest ever edition of the Junior show.

Good luck – or rather – pob lwc!
