Tel Aviv Blog: Day 13, Thursday May 16th

HAPPY SEMI-FINAL 2 DAY!

Hass Yusuf reports on behalf go OGAE UK.

Today at Tel Aviv we had the first dress rehearsal for Semi-Final 2 in the afternoon, and in the evening the all-important Jury Final, which accounts for 50% of the vote. Do well here and you can still afford to lose a few votes from the public.

Here are the 18 acts, in running order, that will perform tonight. Only ten of them will go through to the Grand Final.

Armenia: Srbuk, Walking Out
Ireland: Sarah McTernan, 22
Moldova: Anna Odobescu, Stay
Switzerland: Luca Hänni, She Got Me
Latvia: Carousel, That Night
Romania: Ester Peony, On A Sunday.
Denmark: Leonora, Love Is Forever
Sweden: John Lundvik, Too Late For Love
Austria: PÆNDA, Limits
Croatia: Roko, The Dream
Malta: Michela, Chameleon
Lithuania: Jurij Veklenko, Run With The Lions
Russia: Sergey Lazarev, Scream
Albania: Jonida Maliqi, Ktheju tokës
Norway: KEiiNO, Spirit In The Sky
Netherlands: Duncan Laurence, Arcade
North Macedonia: Tamara Todevska, Proud
Azerbaijan: Chingiz, Truth

If you listen to all talk in the Eurovision buble then, Switzerland. Russia, Netherlands and Azerbaijan are all going through.

No doubt there will ba few surprises – fingers creased for North Macedonia and Albania for their powerful Balkan efforts. I’m hoping the Lithuania entry will succeed – it’s become a firm favourite. Demark stand an excellent chance – as do Norway. Will the wings do it for Croatia? And good luck to our Irish neighbour!

We’ll be back with the qualifiers later tonight!
