It is with great sadness that OGAE UK has learnt of the death of Eurovision legend, Martin Lee. As lead singer of Brotherhood of Man, Lee delivered the UK’s third win at the contest with the classic “Save Your Kisses for Me” scoring 167 points at the 1976 contest in The Hague. The song went on to top the charts in the UK as well as in nine other countries, and remains one of the best-selling songs ever to come out of the contest.
Lee enjoyed further success with Brotherhood of Man in the late seventies and toured right up until 2020. He was a regular at fan events and was always very positive and enthusiastic about the Eurovision experience. All Eurovision fans owe him a debt of gratitude and our sincere condolences go to his widow (and Brotherhood of Man bandmate) Sandra, and his family and friends.
