OGAE Song Contest 2020 – it’s Dua Lipa for the UK!

The UK heat for the OGAE Song Contest 2020 is complete and OGAE UK will be represented at this year’s contest by…….Dua Lipa!

The 24 year old’s smash hit Physical had a convincing win with 276 points over Mabel’s Don’t Call Me up with 212 points. In third place was Georgia, whose About Work the Dancefloor garnered 177 points.

38 songs were in the running to represent OGAE UK in the annual online song contest that celebrates non-Eurovision songs from across the OGAE network.

This year’s OGAE Song Contest is being hosted by OGAE UK following the club’s victory in 2019 with Lewis Capaldi. Dua will be aiming to make it three wins in a row for OGAE UK following Steps’ win at the 2018 OGAE Song Contest.

Physical was released on 30th January 2020 and is co-written by Dua Lipa alongside Jason Evigan, Clarence Coffee Jnr and Sarah Hudson. It reached number one in five countries and peaked at Number 3 in the UK, becoming her eighth top 10 single.

OGAE UK would like to thank all those who voted, and we’d like to wish Dua Lipa the very best of luck for the finals of this year’s contest, which gets underway on 1st September,

You can see the full scoreboard for the UK heat here. If you missed it, the full playlist of the competing songs can be viewed here.
